Following the huge success of the first cultural camp held at Waiheke Island’s Piritahi Marae in 2016, this year ServiceIQ is delighted to offer the unique experience to even more tourism students with a choice of two, five-day camps at the beautiful location.
Enrolments are now open for the following ServiceIQ Gateway Cultural Camps at Piritahi Marae on Waiheke Island:
- 17th April 2017 (Monday) – 22nd April (Saturday)
- 2nd October 2017 (Monday) – 6th October (Friday)
ServiceIQ’s Gateway Cultural Camps give students the ultimate introduction to Māori cultural and adventure tourism.
Over a week, non-Māori and Māori students from all over the country study and complete Tourism Māori Unit Standards (Level 3), learn about nearby tourism attractions, discover the history and tikanga of the host marae, and gain an understanding of Māori tourism and its huge importance in New Zealand’s booming tourism industry.
It’s the perfect way to prepare for a stimulating career.
