Diana McKay from Christchurch’s Rock Shop will represent the upper South Island at the ServiceIQ Retail Professional Award in Auckland next month.
Diana has been with the Rock Shop for a year and the role combines her love of music, her love of retailing, and a commitment to training. “Diana has proven since day one that she is a consummate professional and willing to learn”, says Diana’s manager Tim Busby. “Not only is Diana our top salesperson but she has completed ServiceIQ Retail Level 2 in just six short months.”
Working in a male-dominated environment – and in the drum department at that – Diana would like to see more women working in head office roles. She sees plenty of opportunity to advance in music retailing and is already plotting her path to the top.
Diana’s regional finalist award was presented last night by ServiceIQ’s training and development manager Nikki Rogers at the Top Shop Retail Excellence Awards in Christchurch.
As the upper South Island representative Diana wins a trip to Auckland to attend the ServiceIQ Retail Professional Award on 22 October. The national winner will win $1000 in ServiceIQ retail training.
