ServiceIQ recognised two of the aviation sector’s achievers this week, with awards presented at the Aviation Leadership Summit in Wellington.
Mike West won the ServiceIQ Award for Skills Excellence, and Aeromotive Ltd, part of Oceania Group, claimed the ServiceIQ Award for Excellence in Training.
Mike West is an aeronautical engineer with the RNZAF. He won the silver medal at last year’s WorldSkills in Germany, competing against young aeronautical engineers from around the world. This year he was a category judge at the WorldSkills nationals in Hamilton, using his skills and commitment to training to help other young engineers be the best they can be. Mike is now mentoring the winner of that event to prepare him for WorldSkills international in Brazil next year.
Aeromotive is known throughout aviation in New Zealand and in many places overseas as well. For decades the company has placed great emphasis on its people, ensuring that they have the skills they need to do a great job and provide customers with top-class service. Training is part of the Aeromotive ethos and is one of the key factors in its continued success.
