Rockshop Palmerston North retailer Beau Richardson will take the stage in Auckland later this month.
He is representing the lower North Island at the ServiceIQ Retail Professional New Zealand Award in Auckland on 22 October.
Beau’s passion for guitars impressed Rockshop’s management before he even started work. “Beau had a part time job as guitar teacher at Saturday Morning Music. He started coming in with his students, helping them to buy guitars. He had a natural manner with people and would talk about getting the best product you could afford,” says Rockshop Director Brett Wells.
Impressed, the store manager approached Beau when a vacancy opened up. Beau is now aiming to become a store manager within two years. He’s working towards his ServiceIQ National Certificate in Retail Level 2 and is committed to further training.
Beau says offering great customer service is at the top of his list of qualities a Retail Professional winner should display.
Beau’s regional finalist award was presented last night by ServiceIQ’s Retail & Wholesale Sector Manager Clare Savage at the Top Shop Retail Excellence Awards in Wellington.
As the southern North Island representative Beau wins a trip to Auckland to attend the ServiceIQ Retail Professional New Zealand Award presentation at the Langham Hotel, Auckland, on 22 October. In addition to the highly-acclaimed national title, the winner’s employer will receive $1000 in ServiceIQ retail training. The Rockshop’s Diana McKay, from the Christchurch store, will also be there representing the upper South Island.
