On-job training delivers success for top holiday parks


Being committed to growing skills and talent has paid dividends for one outstanding New Zealand holiday park, and for an exceptional employee at another.

The 2022 ServiceIQ Holiday Park Visitor Experience Award was won by Shelly Beach Top 10 Holiday Park, recognising its long-standing history of workplace training and development of staff.

“ServiceIQ makes staff training nice and easy,” says Shelly Beach Top 10’s Aaron McFarlane.

“As a holiday park owner, I have seen staff motivation and professionalism improve. Most of all, it’s the right thing to do and helps give our staff a real feel-good factor.”

The ServiceIQ Trainee Award for 2022 was won by Monika Rudolf from Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park, who recently completed the New Zealand Certificate in Business Level 3 on-job.

She says the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.

“That's what I thought when the opportunity to learn with ServiceIQ came up. And all done through my employer… even better! The assignments were fun to do with examples from work, the support/encouragement was great, and help was only an email or phone call away. I now have a business qualification, which has already helped me to get more responsibility at work!”
