Hospitality and tourism teachers are invited to provide feedback on the new Hinonga Kōkiri / Head Start Project Sector Skills Summaries.
Each summary illustrates how COVID-19 has affected employers and employees, future workers, and potential sector employment opportunities. Data was obtained through a comprehensive series of focus group and survey insights from industry, schools, and providers. Recommendations for skills initiatives to support sector recovery from the impacts of COVID-19 are provided in the conclusion of each summary.
The findings reflect many stakeholder voices working within each sector, and we are now seeking any comments you may have on the summaries and their findings. Please provide feedback directly to the Hinonga Kōkiri / Head Start Project team at WorkforceDevelopment@ServiceIQ.org.nz before 5pm on Monday, 22 March 2021.

One outcome of this work will be a ServiceIQ-developed workforce strategy offered to the newly formed Services Workforce Development Council Interim Establishment Board. It will include employer, school, provider and iwi voices to give service sector stakeholders an opportunity to shape vocational education in Aotearoa New Zealand.
